Pet Urn
Do you have to keep your pets ashes in a bag inside the urn?
My beloved cat Sasha passed away a week ago, she was almost 19. I ordered a beautiful urn for her ashes but I am not sure if I should keep her ashes in a bag. Personally I think it is better to use a bag for the urn might fall and break. Please help, I just want to do what is right.

Sorry for your loss..You keep the bag of ashes in the bag-and then keep them in the urn. You never want to open them unless you plan on scattering them. I wouldn't have had my beloved dog, Simba cremated if I was going to leave him in the yard. Ashes blow away or if I move and he would have been buried and left behind..That was the whole point of cremating him to keep him with us. Plus, we have him near so we can visit him and deal with our grief of him being gone. HUGS
I will add..That Simba always no matter how hot it was loved to be under a blanket. I cut and took a small piece of one of his blankets that he and my son shared and wrapped it around his bag/ashes-Then placed them back in the urn and I also have another small piece that I lay on top of his urn with a picture on top of it of him and my son. I have many of his toys on a shelf with it..Pictures, etc...Just as a small memorial for him.
No offense to the other user because people should do what they feel is right, but believe me it's been 3 years since we lost Simba and we still feel his presence. I do believe our beloved pets have a special place in Heaven-So, while they still live in our hearts, their soul is in Heaven. Because I have done animal rescue for 18 years, our cats have been buried-Even the ones we had for many years as our own pets and it doesn't mean we loved them less...But, certain pets are truly family and that's why Simba was cremated and when our pet rabbit passes-She too will be cremated.
